1. Information We Collect

The following personal information is collected in connection with our Services:

Information You Provide Directly

Some Services enable us to collect information directly from you or from other companies with whom you have a relationship. We may also collect information directly from you offline. For example:

• When you access our Services, you may provide us with information, such as, name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and workplace information (location of your workplace, direct call number, job position, and your company information).

• When you communicate with our customer service staff or others, your information and communications will be transmitted through our systems.

Information about Your Use of Our Services

In addition to the information you provide, we will collect information about your use of our Services through software on your devices and by other means. We will collect:

• Device information: Country, location information (city, state / province, country information from IP address), language, IP address, settings of devices and device identifiers, such as Customer GUID.

• Log information: Usage information, such as, browser, ISP, performance timing, referrer, time zone, most recent search engine, search query, total time spent on tracked pages in minutes, e-mail open tracking records and cookies.

• Service usage information: Other information about your use of our Services, such as visit history and how you interact with content offered through our Services.
2. How We Use the Information We Collect

We use the information we collect about you in order to:

• Provide you with our Services or features you request, such as, to respond to your requests, questions and instructions made and given through our Services.

• Provide you with tailored functions such as an autofill function, a quick search function based on your most visited Service and our other web services, and additional contents tailored to your interests. 

• Identify and authenticate you so you may use certain of our Services.

• Operate, evaluate and improve our Services, including developing new products and services, managing our communications, analyzing our Services, conducting market research, performing data analytics, auditing and other internal functions.

• Protect against, identify and prevent fraud and other criminal activities, claims and other liabilities.

• Analyze customer behaviors, build up customer usage patterns and profiles in order to identify regional and global user trends and optimize our offering to customers globally.

• Provide customized advertisements by analyzing combined information obtained from your use of our Services, including personal information, with information that you provide to us by other means, for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. We may also receive your information, including your email, from third-party social networking services (e.g., Google, Facebook, Amazon or Line) when you choose to connect our Services with those social networking services.

• Monitor use of our Services and use your information to help us monitor, improve and protect our products, content, services and websites.

• Comply with and enforce requirements under applicable laws, relevant industry standards and our policies, including this Privacy Policy. 
3. Information Sharing

We disclose personal information about you through our Services for purposes detailed in this Privacy Policy as described below:

• Affiliates: We may disclose your information to other LGD group companies that we control or own.

• Service Providers. We may disclose your information to companies that provide services on our behalf, such as, companies that help us develop and operate systems for our Services. These entities are limited by contractual provisions in their ability to use your information for purposes other than providing the relevant services to us. In addition, we may share your personal information with our business partners, such as, wireless carriers, as well as third parties that operate apps and services that connect with certain features of our Services.

• Other Parties When Required or Permitted by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services. There may be instances when we disclose your information to other parties, such as:

-  to comply with the law or respond to compulsory legal processes (such as, a search warrant or other court order);

-  to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Services;

-  to protect our rights, property, or safety, or, in compliance with data protection laws, the rights, property or safety of any of our respective affiliates, business partners, or customers; and

- as otherwise required or permitted by applicable laws.

• Other Parties in Connection with Transactions / Bankruptcy. We may disclose your information to a third party as part of an actual or planned merger or transfer, acquisition or sale, or in the event of a bankruptcy.

• Other Parties with Your Consent or upon Your Request. In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Policy, we may share your information with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.

• Links to Other Websites, Devices, Apps and Features. Our Services may enable you to connect to other websites, devices, apps and other features, which may operate independently from us and may have their own privacy notices or policies, which we strongly suggest you review. To the extent any linked website, device, app or other feature is not owned or controlled by us, we are not responsible for its content, use or privacy practices.
4. Retention of Personal Information

We take appropriate steps to ensure that we process and retain information about you as follows:

• at least for the duration for which the information is used to provide you with our Services; 

• as required under law, or contract, or with regard to our statutory obligations (e.g., tax laws); or

• only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, is processed, or longer if required under any contract, by applicable law, or, in anonymized form, for statistical purposes, subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Your Choices

We offer you certain choices in connection with the personal information we obtain from you via email, phone call, text messages or push notifications. Please consider your choices carefully as if you unsubscribe from receiving marketing communications in connection with our Services, you will no longer be able to use our MAT services. To limit communications you receive from us, or to submit a request, please contact us using the information specified in the “Contact Us” section below.

Our Services may offer you choices relating to the collection, deletion and sharing of certain information and communications about products, services and promotions that are unique to specific Services. You can access the relevant settings of our Services to learn about choices that may be available to you in respect of that Service. If you decline to allow our Services to collect, store or share certain information, you may not be able to enjoy full use of all of the features available through our Services.  
6. Your Rights

Your personal information belongs to you. To the extent provided by applicable law, you may ask us to provide details about the personal information we have collected, and you can ask us to delete any personal information or correct any inaccuracies. To the extent provided by applicable laws, you can also ask us to restrict or limit the processing, sharing, or transferring of your personal information, as well as to provide you with personal information that we have collected from you so you can use it for your own purposes. If you unsubscribe from our marketing communications or request the deletion of your personal information, we will delete your information, but this may also result in the loss of access to our Services. We will not delete data that we are required by law to retain. We take protection of your information seriously and maintain safeguards designed to protect the information we collect in connection with our Services.

8. Personal Information of Children

Our Service is designed for a general audience and is not directed towards children. In connection with our Service, we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen (16) or knowingly allow such persons to use our Service. If you are under the age of sixteen (16), please do not attempt to register for our Service or provide us with any personal information. If we learn that a person under the age of sixteen (16) has provided us with any personal information, we will promptly delete such personal information. This section supplements this Privacy Policy and applies solely to consumers in California (excluding LG Display job applicants and personnel).

Collection and Disclosure

In the past 12 months, we may have:

(1) Collected the following categories of personal information about you:

•  identifiers, such as, real name, postal address, unique personal identifier (such as a device identifier; cookies, mobile ad identifier and similar technology; customer number, unique pseudonym, or user alias; telephone number and other forms of persistent or probabilistic identifiers), online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address, account name, other similar identifiers, and identifiers associated with other users of our Services;

• geolocation data (such as geolocation information collected from your devices);

• Internet and other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with websites, applications or advertisements;

and inferences drawn from some of the above categories of information to create a profile.  
(2) Collected or sold personal information about you for the following business or commercial purposes (in addition to the purposes listed above in this Privacy Policy):

• performing services, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, verifying customer information, providing advertising or marketing services, providing analytics services, or providing similar services;

• auditing related to a current interaction with you and concurrent transactions, including, but not limited to, counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance;

• short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, the contextual customization of ads shown as part of the same interaction;

• detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity;

• debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;

• undertaking internal research for technological development and demonstration; and

• undertaking activities to verify or maintain the quality or safety of a service or device that is owned, manufactured, manufactured for, or controlled by us, and to improve, upgrade, or enhance the service or device that is owned, manufactured, manufactured for, or controlled by us. 
(3) Collected or sold personal information about you for the following business or commercial purposes (in addition to the purposes listed above in this Privacy Policy):

• performing services, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, verifying customer information, providing advertising or marketing services, providing analytics services, or providing similar services;

• other third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing; and

• government entities, including law enforcement, as required by law.
(5) Disclosed for a business purpose the following categories of personal information about you:

• Solution Service Providers: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and workplace information (location of your workplace, direct call number, job position, and your company information), and other personal data that is processed by us

• System management service Providers: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, workplace information (location of your workplace, direct call number, job position, and your company information), and other personal data that is processed by us

• Data Analytics Providers: Identifiers such as a unique personal identifier (such as a device identifier; cookies, beacons, pixel tags, mobile ad identifiers and similar technology; other forms of persistent or probabilistic identifiers), online identifier, internet protocol address, internet and other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with websites, applications or advertisements.

• Service Providers for Advertisements: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and workplace information (location of your workplace, direct call number, job position, and your company information), and other personal data that is processed by us

Please note that we do not sell personal information, and did not sell personal information in the past 12 months.
California Consumer Privacy Rights

You may have the right to request, twice in a 12-month period, the following information about the personal information we have collected about you during the past 12 months:

• the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;

• the categories of sources from which we collected the personal information;

• the business or commercial purpose for which we collected or sold the personal information;

• the categories of third parties with whom we shared the personal information; and

• the categories of personal information about you that we sold or disclosed for a business purpose, and the categories of third parties to whom we sold or disclosed that information for a business purpose.

You also may have the right to request that we provide you with (1) a list of certain categories of personal information we have disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year and (2) the identity of those third parties. In addition, you have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you. We will not deny, charge different prices for, or provide a different level or quality of goods or services because you choose to exercise these rights.

We will require that you provide us with your e-mail address. When we receive your request, we will review the information that you provide and attempt to use it to verify your identity by comparing it against the information we have on file. When we receive such a request, we will process the request, consistent with our standard process for verifying consumer requests. In addition, we may request information to demonstrate the agent’s authority to act on your behalf.

We seek your consent to process your personal information, where we consider it appropriate or where this is required by law. We use consent to:

• On an individual level analyze customer behaviors, build up customer usage patterns and profiles in order to identify regional and global user trends and optimize our offering to customers globally

• Provide customized advertisement by analyzing combined information obtained from your use of Services, including personal information, with information that you provide to us by other means, for the purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. We also may receive your information, including your email, from third-party social networking services (e.g., Google, Facebook, Amazon or Line) when you choose to connect our Services with those social networking services;

• Place cookies and use similar technologies in accordance with our Cookie Policy and the information provided to you when those technologies are used. For more information, see our Cookie Policy and

• Send you marketing communications (where this is required by law or where we otherwise elect to rely on consent).

On other occasions where we ask you for consent, we will use the data for the purpose explained to you at that time. When we rely on your consent, you always have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we carried out before you withdrew your consent. (4) Legal obligations

We process personal information to the extent this is necessary for us to:
• Comply with legal requirements under applicable EU/EEA and Member State laws (e.g. tax and accounting obligations, obligations relating to consumer protection); and

• Comply with court orders and subpoenas, and respond to legally binding requests from government, law enforcement agencies, public authorities and/or regulators under EU/EEA and Member State law.

Where we need your information to perform our contract with you or to comply with our legal obligations, you are required to provide this information to us. In other instances, you are not required to provide personal information, however, not doing so may impact the way you use our Service.

The legal basis for this processing in the EU/EEA is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with relevant EU/EEA or national legislation.

• Other Parties in Connection with Transactions. In related transactions, we may need to disclose information to potential buyers and/or their advisors, our own advisors as well as other specialists involved in the process such as insurance companies, notaries and/or technical service providers.

• Other Parties with Your Consent or on Your Request. Where we obtain your consent for sharing your personal information with further third parties, such third party will be named in the respective consent form.

• Links to Other Websites, Devices, Apps and Features. Currently, you can connect to our Services from the following social networks (operated by the following entities): [name of social network (Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube). These are also the social networks on which we conduct personalized marketing campaigns.

In addition to the rights listed under section 6 in the main body of this Privacy Policy, you have the right to access your personal data. Where the data processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you also have the right to object provided the statutory requirements are met.

G. International Transfer of Information

If you are in the EEA (that is in the European Union and Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway), UK or Switzerland, we will transfer your personal information to the Republic of Korea and the USA. We will take appropriate measures, in compliance with applicable laws, to ensure that your personal information remains protected. Such measures include for instance the use of EU approved model clauses. In some instances, we will rely on your explicit consent, where this is appropriate. H. Automated decision-making

Automated decision-making, including profiling, referred to in Article 22 (1), (4) GDPR does not take place.
2. For Users Having Usual Residence in Canada

A. Section 3 - Information Sharing

Your personal information will be transferred (or otherwise made available) to our affiliates and certain third parties that provide services on our behalf. We use service providers to provide services such as companies that help us develop and operate systems for our Services, host and operate the website, and provide advertising and marketing services.


B. Section 4 – Retention of Personal Information

In addition and subject to the practices set forth in Section 4, we will store your personal information in accordance with our retention policies or as otherwise required or permitted by law, after which your personal information will be securely destroyed or anonymized (so the information no longer identifies you).


C. Section 5 - Your Choices

The following choices are available to you in addition to your choices set out in Section 6 of this Policy.

To unsubscribe from email marketing communications, you can use the unsubscribe mechanism provided within any email you receive.

Please note the following regarding withdrawal of consent or changes in your preferences:
  • if you unsubscribe from email marketing communications, we will delete your information, provided that the information needs not be retained by laws ; and
  • It may take some time for all of our records to reflect changes in your preferences (e.g., if you request that you not receive personalized marketing communications from us, your preference may not be captured for a promotion already in progress).

In addition to rights you may have as described in Section 6, you have the right to request to access, update or correct inaccuracies in your personal information in our custody and control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. By continuing to participate in and/or use our Services after the modified version of the Privacy Policy has been posted or you have been informed of such update, you are accepting the changes to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the changes in our Privacy Policy, it is your responsibility to stop participating in and/or using our Services. F. International Transfer of Personal Information

Your personal information may be transferred to our service providers and affiliates located outside Canada, including in the United States and South Korea.

(1) 3rd Party Service Provider

Some of the services or functions in our Services may be provided by external 3rd party service providers. For companies, organizations and individuals that we hire or contract to process personal information, we will sign strict confidentiality agreements with them and require them to process personal information in accordance with our requirements, this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

(2) Information Sharing

1. Sharing under Statutory Requirements: We may share your personal information with external parties in accordance with laws and regulations, or governmental measures or judicial orders required by administrative or judicial organs in accordance with the law.

2. Sharing with Express Consent: After obtaining your express consent by obtaining your consent for our privacy policy, we will share your personal information with other parties.

 

(3) Transfer

We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organization or individual, except under the following circumstances:

1. We will transfer your personal information to other parties only after obtaining your express consent by obtaining your consent for our privacy policy; or

2. B. Section 6 - Your Rights

In addition to your rights as described in Section 6,

(i) You have the right to request a copy of your personal information we have. If technically feasible, we can also directly transmit a copy of your personal information to a third party designated by you according to your request. (ii) To ensure safety, you may need to provide a written request or prove your identity. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. We will reply within thirty days. If you are not satisfied, you can also make a complaint using the information specified in the “Contact Us” section.

 

C. Section 10 – Contact Us

Under normal circumstances, we will reply within 30 days. If you are dissatisfied with our response, especially if our personal information processing has infringed your legal rights, you can also seek a solution from the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with our privacy policy shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the International Arbitration Rules of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. The number of arbitrators shall be three. The seat, or legal place, of arbitral proceedings shall be Seoul, South Korea. The language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be English.

D. Cross-border Transfer of Information

Since we provide products or services all over the world, after obtaining your consent, your personal information may be transferred to the overseas jurisdiction of the country/region (including United States and South Korea), or receive visits from these jurisdictions. Such jurisdictions may have different data protection laws or even no relevant laws. In such cases, we will ensure that your personal information is lawfully and as equally protected as within the territory of the People's Republic of China. For example, we will request your consent to the cross-border transfer of personal information by obtaining your consent for our privacy policy, or implement security measures such as data de-identification before cross-border data transfer.

• Service Providers. We may disclose your information to companies that provide services on our behalf, such as, companies that help us develop and operate systems for our Services. These entities are limited by contractual provisions in their ability to use your information for purposes other than providing the relevant services to us. In addition, we may share your personal information with our business partners, such as, wireless carriers, as well as third parties that operate apps and services that connect with certain features of our Services. These Service Providers may include the following companies: Oracle corp., LG CNS co.ltd.

To the extent permitted by the local law, you agree that your personal information may be transferred to our service providers and affiliates located outside your location, including our service providers and affiliates located in the United States and South Korea.
